Vocally Global Inc. ("Vocally Global," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Platform").
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that we collect, use, and disclose personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. Where required by applicable law, we will request your consent before collecting or using your personal information for specific purposes.

2. Applicable Privacy Laws
Vocally Global Inc. is headquartered in Quebec, Canada, and complies with applicable Canadian and Quebec privacy legislation, including:
- Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25 / Bill 64): governing the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information by private-sector organizations in Quebec;
- Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA): applicable to commercial activities involving personal information across Canada;
- Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL): governing commercial electronic messages.
To the extent users are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, additional rights and protections may apply, as described in Sections 14, 15, and 16 of this Policy.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, password, profile photo, and user type (student or tutor).
- Tutor Profile Data: Languages spoken, certifications, education, bio, introductory video, hourly rate, availability, and country.
- Identity and Tax Verification (Tutors): Tutors are required to complete identity verification and tax compliance checks before offering paid lessons on the Platform. This includes submitting government-issued identification and tax residency information through our third-party verification provider, such as Stripe or another approved provider. Vocally Global receives verification status only and does not store full identity documents on its own servers.
- Payment Information: Billing details and payment method information processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: Messages sent through the Platform, support requests, and feedback.
- Booking Data: Lesson schedules, notes, and session history.
- Reviews and Ratings: Feedback you leave about tutors or lessons.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, remember preferences, and analyze usage. See Section 7 for details.
- Log Data: Server logs recording requests made to our Platform, including timestamps, URLs, and response codes.
3.3 Lesson and Classroom Data
Lessons conducted through the Platform are not recorded. We may collect lesson metadata such as session start/end times, attendance, booking records, messages, support notes, and technical logs for operational and support purposes.
3.4 Information from Third Parties
- Social Login Providers: If you sign in using Google or another provider, we receive your name, email, and profile photo as permitted by your account settings.
- Payment and Verification Processors: Transaction confirmations, payment status updates, and tutor verification status.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Platform;
- Create and manage your account;
- Facilitate bookings, payments, and communications between students and tutors;
- Verify tutor identity and tax compliance;
- Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, reminders, receipts) — these do not require separate consent;
- Send marketing communications where you have provided consent in accordance with CASL and applicable law;
- Personalize your experience, including tutor recommendations;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
5. Tutor Profile Promotion
Tutors may choose to have their Vocally profile — including their name, profile photo, biography, languages offered, and introductory video — featured on Vocally Global's social media channels for promotional purposes at no cost to the tutor.
This is entirely optional. Tutors can opt in or withdraw their consent at any time through their account settings under Profile Preferences. Withdrawal of consent will not affect any promotional use that occurred prior to withdrawal.
Vocally Global will not use a tutor's profile for paid advertising or third-party commercial purposes without separate explicit consent.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Between Users: Student and tutor profiles, booking details, and messages are shared as necessary to facilitate lessons.
- Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who assist us with payment processing, identity verification, email delivery, hosting, analytics, and customer support, subject to confidentiality obligations.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Vocally Global, our users, or others.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
- With Your Consent: We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and core Platform functionality. These do not require your consent.
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how users interact with the Platform. These are optional and require your consent where required by law.
- Marketing cookies: Used to deliver relevant content and measure the effectiveness of campaigns. These are optional and require your consent.
Where required by Quebec Law 25 or other applicable law, we will present you with a cookie preferences tool allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You may also manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law, including for financial records, tax compliance, fraud prevention, or legal disputes.
9. Data Security and Confidentiality Incidents
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), secure data storage, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a confidentiality incident (a privacy breach or unauthorized access to personal information), Vocally Global will take prompt action to contain and assess the incident. Where required by applicable law, including Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector and PIPEDA, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant regulatory authority (including the Commission d'accès à l'information (CAI) in Quebec) where there is a risk of serious injury.
10. Minor Users
Students aged 13 and older may use the Platform. Students under 18 may use the Platform only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, where required by applicable law. Where a parent or guardian creates and manages the account on behalf of a minor, they represent that they have the authority to do so and consent to this Privacy Policy on behalf of the minor.
We apply additional care to the personal information of minor users. We do not use minor users' personal information for marketing purposes without explicit parental consent. If we learn that personal information has been collected from a student under 13 without a parent or guardian account, we will delete it promptly.
The Platform is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account independently, please contact us at privacy@vocallyglobal.com.
11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
- Opt-Out of Marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in the email or through your account settings.

12. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed outside your province or country of residence, including in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required by applicable law, we use contractual and other safeguards to protect personal information transferred outside Quebec or Canada, in accordance with Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA, and other applicable requirements.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or prominent in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date means the updated policy applies to your use of the Platform. Where required by law, we will request your consent for material changes.
14. Quebec and Canadian Privacy Rights
If you are located in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada, you have rights under Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25) and PIPEDA, including the right to access, correct, and in some cases request deletion of your personal information. You may also lodge a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information (CAI) at www.cai.gouv.qc.ca or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca.
15. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, Vocally Global processes your data under lawful bases including contract performance, legitimate interests, and consent. You have additional rights including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For data transfers outside the EEA/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved mechanisms.
16. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell your data), and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
